Senior Choir: This is the most active singing group, singing weekly in one service between September and early June. This group covers a wide variety of repertoire, from classics to contemporary, plus exploration of hymns in the New Century Hymnal. Rehearsals are a casual atmosphere of individuals singing praise to the Lord. Musical ability is not required, but greatly appreciated. We rehearse Wednesdays at 7:00pm except when preceded by Cantata Choir or Lenten services.
Cantata Choir: This group for high school and up usually sings a Christmas cantata, with rehearsals beginning in early October. It also sings for our annual Music Sunday in the spring. Rehearsals begin after Easter.
Praise Group: This is our newest musical group, open to grade 7 and up. We lead singing twice monthly in the Family Service at 10:20am and also introduce some popular praise songs. This is a great group for those who have very little time to commit, but still enjoy singing. We’ll rehearse each day we sing at 10 AM. We currently sing everything in unison; it can’t get any simpler! This group is a great opportunity for parents of Sunday School children.
Cherub Choir: Children age 3 through grade 2 participate in this group, which sings monthly in the 10:20 service. Cherub Choir practices on Sundays at 10:00 and is directed by Kathy Boyer.
Junior Choir: This group for grades 3-6 sings about once a month at the 10:20 service. We learn music in a variety of styles. Junior Choir practices on Wednesdays at 5:00pm.
Chime Choir: This group for grades 3-6 introduces children to ringing, using our 3-octave set of Malmark handchimes. Chime Choir meets Wednesdays at 5:30pm and plays about 6 times per year in the 10:20 service.
Men’s Choir: This group explores music specially written for 2-4 part men’s chorus. We sing about once a month and rehearse every other Monday at 7:00pm.
Youth Choir: This group for grades 7-12 is being reactivated in October. We’ll explore a variety of musical styles while learning some basic part-singing. This type of group is missing in most local churches. Let’s make ours work! Check the church calendar for dates.
